What if Putin is gay

Am I trying to write something humorous?

Actually, no.

Yesterday I watched a brief video of Putin listening to one of his commanders. In some videos Putin still looks fine, in some, like this one — fragile; I’d say almost confused, not very present. I have this principle of avoiding images and videos of Putin, even when I write about him so no video!

And out of nowhere, this thought occurred to me. What if he is gay.

I immediately remembered the great movie American Beauty –Ricky’s brutal and homophobic father Frank Fritt. In the end, it’s revealed (when he tries to kiss the main actor played by Kevin Spacey) that Frank is homosexual and has been repressing his sexuality, by being rough, authoritarian, and brutal.

Putin has been divorced for many years. There are rumors of a Russian gymnast being his girlfriend, but they are rumors, after all. Ever since his divorce, Putin has not been seen with a partner. I know, being secretive is part of his KGB…
