Ways Trump’s presidency could unravel: A non-judgmental note

I recently expressed support for the Republican victory. But I acknowledge the emotional nature of my sentiment. I thought I’d drop a few notes that are calm — not in the spirit of “the world is going to hell” that I’m seeing a lot in my feed.

In no particular order:

  • Musk and Trump will not sustain their bromance. The two men are too strong-headed and sooner or later will collide in a way that can destruct one or both of them. Given that both are extremely powerful, the aftermath of the destruction can be dramatic.
  • On a similar note, Trump will end up firing and alienating the very people he recently chose for his team. It happened before.
  • Trump will not end the Ukraine war — or any war for that matter — in a day. Neither Trump nor anyone else can come out a clean winner from the current highly complicated international conflicts.
  • There will be no quick resolution to the economic challenges. The effect from any policy, even if executed well, comes with a lag.
  • I’m for less regulation but there is a risk that we have more of the Sam Bankman-Fried type blow-ups, especially given the incredible pace of the AI revolution and all things digital.
  • I am often skeptical about over-hyped news — from Zuckerberg launching Threads to Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala — but I’m excited about Bluesky.
