Tucker Carlson is in Moscow, and there is no reason to overreact
He was spotted at the Bolshoi theater, and the rumor is that he will interview Putin.
Here are the reasons why a ‘frenzy’ is unwarranted.
First, we don’t know yet if he will interview Putin. But let’s assume that’s the plan.
Complain all you want, but there is no legitimate reason to stop anyone from speaking to anyone, not in politics, business, or personal life. If you consider yourself part of the free world, then you can’t be hypocritical and bash a journalist for interviewing a world leader, a gangster, or a terrorist. It doesn’t matter how you feel about Tucker or Putin.
Also, Tucker is not doing anything groundbreaking. Larry King interviewed Putin years ago. Granted, Putin then was an unknown force to the West. Well, actually, he was a known force — an ex-KGB dude. Not much has changed. That interview, by the way, is best known for Putin’s awkward, if not dumb, joke about the sunken submarine. What happened to it, King asked. It sank, Putin replied.
