Today Putin gave a historic speech. I started listening to it in Russian. Climate change unsung hero!

As I watched it, I started transcribing [not an exact translation but I was trying to capture the key ideas]. “Historic” is how it was described by some channels on social media before it started.

World institutions are degrading.

The world rules are dedicated by you know who. We don’t understand these rules. The goal of those holding on to power [awesome coming from someone holding on to power for 23 years] us to have an opportunity to live without rules.

Our real life shows we were right.

The developments are negative.

The so-called West (of course there is no unity) in recent years and especially months took steps to escalate. They always escalate. Nothing new. They escalated the war in Ukraine. Destabilization of global food and energy markets.

The so-called West wants to dominate the world. It’s a dangerous game. Bloody. Dirty. It denies the sovereignty of nations. Their right to exist, their authenticity [“awesome” coming from someone explicitly denying Ukraine the right to exist].

We always call for collective safety.

Now the crisis is global.

There are two paths.

The first one is to keep increasing all the problems.
