Three Pillars of Meaningful Human Existence
I know, I know — it’s a pretentious title. But the wisdoms I’m about to share come from genuine experiences and honest self-reflection, shaped by diverse life events over the years.
You’re free to disagree.
1. Experiencing consciousness. To clarify, I’m not referring to the general concept of self-awareness or consciousness. I’m talking specifically about the experience of being conscious — being aware of your own awareness. It’s the sensation of extreme mental clarity, as I described in this story.
This evening, as I was driving home, it happened again. My senses were sharp. My mind was extremely clear. I’ve had a difficult week (when was the last time I had an easy week? I don’t remember). It feels like I’m forever solving an equation with too many variables, both on the work and family front. But I’m not mentioning this to complain. The point is, while driving, I was aware of everything in my existence — all the topics, challenges, and people in my life. The complexity of my life, and a very long day coming to an end, didn’t make me feel fatigued. Instead, they enriched my consciousness. I was also aware of the world around me — the immediate one, like the cars near me, and the much broader one.
