A boring “about me” type of note. It’s satisfying to be able to drop it, though! I set out on the journey of writing in October 2021. No goals, no expectations, no strategy, no followers. I’m happy with the progress. Feels a bit messy at times — hundreds of stories of different quality behind, followers and unfollowers, subscribers and unsubscribers. But it’s all real stuff — writing consistently and connecting with different audiences. I strongly oppose any type of Medium stats sharing, especially earnings, but let me make a rare exception and share this:
A quarter of a million reads? Exposure to an audience exceeding half a million? That’s awesome.
So I’m here on Medium. I allowed myself to whine a little the other day, but I’m here to stay. I don’t have a niche. I write about running, current affairs, love, family, parenting, politics, entrepreneurship, pop culture, and life in general. I don’t give advice! I share experiences and sometimes opinions. I still write stories about Russia, though the detachment from the country which was once my home is growing to the point of no return.
Because I write on many topics, I try to sort them, although not always immediately, by Medium’s lists feature.
