This is my favorite band, after all
I’ll sound boring to some.
Writing about music is a lonely affair. You really like a song, an album, or a band. Because it means a lot to you. You have memories and feelings and there is a unique soundtrack to them. Unique to you. To someone else — it’s less meaningful; sometimes meaningless.
When I work on my laptop I always have Youtube shuffling music videos in the background.
This came up a few minutes ago
All I want is You. Bono dedicates this song to his wife — he says so at the beginning.
Then there is a transition to Where the Streets Have No Name.
When I listen to “All I want is you”, I’m thinking of my wife.
Because all I want is you.
For many years, for decades.
The “All I want is you” is my favorite part of this video.
But Where the streets have no name is lovely too.
I’m thinking… well, of Joshua Tree. Not U2’s album but the national park in California.
All I want is California! Its deserts too!
