Shark Tank is awesome, and I’d love to be a Shark one day.
I hardly watch TV, but when I travel, I often do. Shark Tank is my go-to thing to watch, unless there is a Scorcese movie I can play in the background. I never figured out the schedule, but it seems always on at CNBC, especially in the evenings. So, I watch it late into the night, while working my laptop.
I’m currently staying at a friends’ house in Southern Florida and, in recent days have binge-watched multiple episodes of Shark Tank. I realized that many episodes are two or three years old, but it’s fine. When some venture is especially interesting, you can google and look up how it’s doing. It’s all real life — real people pursuing their dreams, putting themselves in vulnerable positions when pitching their stories, then moving on — failing and succeeding.
At this very moment, I am watching two dudes present their Birddogs shorts. The founder went to Harvard Business School. Well, I went to Harvard Business School! I attempted entrepreneurship but failed. I haven’t been on Shark Tank in any capacity. I’m certainly not close to being a Shark! The Sharks are ripping Birddog apart and not giving any offers. They are also accusing the founders of being arrogant. This is one of the uglier episodes. So a miserable Shark Tank experience for Birddog but apparently the company is doing well.
