Running, California, and what I ate today.

This week I hope to run eighty miles, my most miles ever in a single week. I hope to run a marathon in three weeks. I had a foot injury in June, missed a few weeks of running, and abandoned the plan to run a marathon in October, but then in July, I started to run again. It’s going well so far. This week twenty-seven miles done already. I’m just back from a lovely easy twelve-mile run. The first six miles are with elevation. When you turn back, it’s obviously easier and often more beautiful too, like today — I observed Southern California’s sunset.

Southern California’s sunset?! The sunset is not location specific, isn’t it? Well, actually it is — to me. I find Southern California’s sunsets extraordinarily beautiful. The colors are bright. Warm, but not too hot. They’re forever youthful, cozy, cinematic, enigmatic... This picture doesn’t do justice to the collection of adjectives I’ve just used but this is the sunset I was running into after mile seven of my run.

So I thought I’d leave a note about what I ate today. No one asked and my food intake has nothing to do with the sunset, but…
