One of the best, simplest things you can do with your kids and for your kids

I’m not a perfect parent and that’s an understatement. Having four kids doesn’t make me good at parenting. Some experience — yes.
I am lazy and give up easily. My wife scolds me a lot for this. For example, I taught my son to play chess. He enjoyed it. To keep his interest intact and help him improve, we need to play regularly, ideally every night. But I just don’t have the discipline. Watching us play his twin sister was interested to learn to but she’s a little harder to teach because she’s more active so it’s harder for her to keep her focus on something like chess. I tried teaching her but it never went farther than a few attempts. So, I half-assed the chess project. I half-ass a lot of other activities with my kids too.
If you are a parent, you probably half-ass a lot of things too, not that it provides an excuse for my half-assing!
The reasons why parents struggle are different. Sometimes it’s just pure slack and lack of focus. Sometimes it’s because we face constraints — financial, scheduling, health-related, and others. Also if one’s own childhood was without chess, or reading books, or playing sports, it’s not easy to adopt a new mindset when raising own kids.
Still, we should try.
I want to recommend one specific activity that doesn’t require any skill or experience. It doesn’t require any money or special gear. It doesn’t…
