Navalny’s call for massive “second front against the war criminal from the Kremlin — ”

I’ve seen several stories and comments recommending a similar course of action. It makes total sense of course. The informational war against Putin’s lies must be stepped up massively, from every corner of the world. What I would add to Navalny’s post is that in addition to large campaigns, every possible voice — journalistic or artistic, local or Western, however small, must be encouraged and assisted. It will all add up in the end.
When I was growing up in Soviet Moscow, I was directly exposed to my parents’ liberal views. They were always critical of the socialist system, of the Soviet Union’s oppressive regime. This was years before the Soviet Union collapsed. The winds of change had started to blow softly in those waning years of the Soviet Union, thanks to Gorbachev’s perestroika and glasnost, but what would happen to the empire just a few years later was unimaginable. Yet my parents were very direct and vocal in their opinions. How did they form their views in the first place, considering their own parents were “very Soviet”, regime obedient, and far from opposing anyone? I don’t know the full story. I will talk to them! They are both Muscovites, both went to good universities. I guess right from their younger years their circle of friends was of a liberal kind. What I do, however, remember well from my childhood is that despite the Iron Curtain and the Soviet regime’s censorship, at least in my family there…
