My recent wild shopping spree culminated in this purchase on Black Friday.

It started a few weeks ago, this desire to finally treat myself. They say self-love is important. I love myself wholeheartedly; there is never insufficient self-love. But I finally needed to go a little beyond the romantic relationship with myself.

So I did.

First, I went to a running shop in Florida and bought these shoes for my easy runs:

To be honest, I found these Hoka shoes mediocre at best so I only use them for my mediocre easy runs.

So just a few days later I traveled twenty file miles to Dick’s Sporting Goods in Fort Lauderdale to get a pair of Saucony’s Endorphins Speed 3 which is my favorite training shoe:

Then I was back in California and here too I drove to a local running store to get another pair of Saucony’s Speed 3:
