My prediction for Putin and the war in Ukraine

Note the way I constructed the title of this story. It’s not “Five ways the war in Ukraine could end” or “How might the war end. Five Scenarios”. The latter is a fresh story by BBC.

I’m taking the risk of being very concrete, of predicting.

“The risk” is an overstatement. It’s not like I’m claiming credit for doing something cool. I’m not and I’m doing something cool.

But what do I have to lose? In the worst case, some days later, or some years later this story will look silly. I will have gotten it all wrong.

So what? I’ll live with this mistake. Or maybe I’ll delete the story.

So let me get straight to the point.

Putin will be gone within days. Most likely gone from this life. I don’t really believe in the afterlife, so he’ll be gone completely.

There is absolutely nothing to support my prediction. In fact, my prediction should be mocked. Many, if not most, Russians support Putin’s war, brainwashed by his propaganda. There are absolutely no signs of Putin’s inner circle (a bunch of thugs and liars, by the way) taking a different stance on the terrible, unbelievable war that’s continuing to rage. Actually, maybe a small sign. I enjoyed reading this article:
