My point is the very first layer of healthy living is eating in moderation. Always, always being aware about the risk of overeating which materializes for the vast majority of people. Restricting calories if you wish. If you don't embrace it, the other layers (valuable in their own right) don't matter. Within that philosophy (eating in moderation and restricting) you don't have to be super restrictive and most of the rules are common sense (less sugars, less processed foods, etc). The topic of weight control for an average person doesn't require a sophisticated analysis. Eat less. Move more
