Mark Cuban deletes all of his pro-Kamala tweets. Do you sanitize your past writing?

Mark Cuban was one of Kamala Harris’s most vocal surrogates. Or perhaps he was one of Donald Trump’s most vocal haters. I’m not sure which describes him better. He was really bitter about Trump.

Anyway, he now deletes his pro-Kamala tweets. All of them.

Expectedly, Cuban got a lot of shit for being weak and cowardly.

I usually avoid judging people, but I’m a little surprised. There are different degrees of freedom in this world, and Cuban, with his vast wealth, is probably freer than most people. So what if Trump won? It’s not like Cuban risks losing influence or business over his past political views. It’s very hard (from any side) to “cancel” very wealthy people.

This news reminded me of the topic of “sanitizing” one’s writing. My general internal rule is not to sanitize. Your stories reflect your intellectual and emotional journey. If something feels silly or…
