Earlier this month, I ran my third marathon in eighteen months. In each race, I set my personal best. Each race was an incredible experience.

I want to keep improving at running, so soon after my marathon, I signed up for California International Marathon (CIM) in December 2023. So far, I’ve been doing smaller events in California. CIM is a big event, and it should be a new experience for me.

I take my marathons very seriously. I run every day, and running is never a burden for me. On the opposite — it’s a like a mini-vacation every day. Marathons are different, however. They are very demanding physically and mentally, so I stick to two races a year at most. CIM nine months away from now was going to be my second race of the year.

But then there is a marathon in May that I ran last year — Orange County Marathon and I started thinking about doing it too. I haven’t signed up yet, but I probably will. I’ll have more to write about! I don’t mean to trivialize writing — oh, I’ll have a story for Medium or my running blog. But there is that element, and it’s heartfelt. I want a new experience, I want memories of a lifetime that I can document. Hopefully, I can share valuable advice and inspire others.
