Every day, I exchange many texts on various topics with my oldest son, who is a sophomore in college. One of today’s discussions was about longevity and health. The first message in the series was about 100-year-old Jimmy Carter not looking very alive. This is the video we discussed and our text exchange:

We often discuss the topic of longevity, and I’m very interested in it — I sure want to live a long life. However, we both agree that true longevity is about being active and alert. There’s no fun in living to an old age if you’re in a vegetative state.
Soon after, he shared a tweet by Bryan Johnson (the guy trying to reverse aging) where Johnson criticized Bill Gates for eating a hot dog. We both disagreed with Bryan Johnson — it’s fine to eat a hot dog!
