I’ve just run my most weekly miles ever.
And I’m not training for any race. I’m just deepening my love for running.
Many years ago — I was back in Russia then — I once ran five days in a row. I don’t remember if had a tracking device then but my route — along the embankment of Moskva river in central Moscow — was about 11 kilometers (was thinking in kilometers back then, not miles!) so that week I ran about 55 kilometers or 34.4 miles. It was a one-off exceptional week. I wondered then what it’d be like to run 7 days a week.
Last year — around the spring or summer — I finally, after many years of jogging and running, clocked 42 miles per week. Not that I was targetting that number but it was a special milestone because it meant I ran approximately 10K a day. 10 kilometers a day, for a week! Even if you’re a runner, running 10K a day is meaningful.
Well, this is what I ran in the last 7 days:

Over 72 miles! Over 10 miles a day! Close to 17 kilometers a day. And the most amazing thing? It didn’t feel special or hard. Close to 70 miles/week is my new normal. Actually, I’m going through a couple of very busy…
