I am trying Vocal with this fiction story (“Return of the Night Owl” challenge)

I’m a non-fiction guy, in general. Most of my stories are about real experiences. As far as reading goes, I barely read fiction these days. I prefer memoirs.

When I do read fiction, I often think — how in the world are some people so creative? How do they come up with totally made-up stories and build intricate plots lines? My brain could never do this. Not in English, not in Russian, my native language.

That said… I do have a couple of fictitious stories and I’m actually pleased with them!

I met Vladimir Putin. This is what I learned.

It was one of my first stories on Medium and it did well, giving me lots of confidence about my writing.

And I just submitted this story to Vocal’s “Return of the Night Owl” Challenge. I’m not present on Vocal but let’s see! Heart my story if you like it.
