I owe my Medium journey to these writers!

Umair was the first author to catch my attention on Medium a couple of years ago. I was fascinated by his consistent — you know — use of a few words, of which one is “collapse”. Many times I allowed myself sarcastic comments under Umair’s stories, not that he ever noticed them. I probably got a few followers by commenting on Umair’s stories, when I started writing, a few months ago!

But I do have great respect for Umair. I still don’t understand the exact timing of Big Collapse (my lifetime? this decade? this century? this millennium?) but I think Umair means well. I appreciate his call to expand a moral community.

I like Tim Denning too. Actually, I really really dislike self-improvement gurus and motivational speakers. I just don’t believe they got their own sh** together. Cause no one can truly get their shit together, ever. But I find Tim’s writing humble. I emailed Tim to thank for one of his stories, and he replied with kind words and encouragement. I’d just written a handful of stories than on Medium. I was determined to write consistently but was facing total uncertainty about how much visibility I could gain on the platform.

But recently I’ve been getting bored of Tim’s email newsletters. I haven’t opened them. I’m not being a jerk and dissing a fellow…
