I’d buy these things immediately if I weren’t tight with money

Housing and cars don’t count.
On the latter, I’d buy a Tesla. There is no deep thinking behind wanting a Tesla. But if I wanted a car just for myself, I’d get a Tesla. I think I’d enjoy it, as an experience as much as a vehicle. “For myself” thinking though means wishful thinking in my situation. Four kids, most of whom are competitive athletes, several other families to take care of, entrepreneurial failures…
Anyway… If I got a big bonus and went on a shopping spree, I’d treat myself to:
- A new iPhone. I know, I know — sounds boring. But I’ve had my iPhone 8 or some variation of it (SE?) for years. Recently I caught myself wanting a new iPhone so that I can take better pictures (some of which I use for my Medium writing!)
- A pair of Saucony Endorphins Pros 3 ($225) for my everyday training:
- A pair of Nike Alpha Fly Next 2 ($275) for my races and some of my runs:
- A new Garmin watch (say $500- I haven’t studied Garmin’s latest models). My current Garmin watch — Forerunner 245— is the best gadget I’ve ever had. It cost me less than $300. It’s two…
