I'd be interested to know what you have in mind Umair, like real examples. My son now is visiting Paris. I asked him how is it? He said terrible, traffic, dirty, protests everywhere...
Not saying Paris is bad (I've visited of course), just a curious observation. I used to live in London (and many years in England for that matter), some years ago - f** hated it. Nice for tourists, but I'd never seen so much social inequality; plus I was victim of street crime several times. I come from Moscow - a city truly modernized in recent decades, literally has many things you mention - broad avenues, spacious parks, arts and culture, the world's most beautiful subway system, and so on. But Moscow is part of the country ruled by authoritarian regime, and the elite are above the law; so not part of the modern world or very questionably so. Beijing? Hong Kong? Frankfurt? Where is that truly modern world? Maybe you have in mind some cozy European cities, but they are like villages - certainly no broad avenues, and little art and culture, not buzzing. And there all these folks proudly reporting on their move to Portugal, or some exotic island. I’m sure you can live a nice life there, but it’s not comparing apples to apples. The grass is greener on the other...
