I started watching Tucker Carlson…
My very firm life philosophy is this: you gotta hear all voices, no matter your convictions. Even if you strongly oppose or loathe someone, you still have to find the patience and humility to understand what resonates with other people. Otherwise, you’re just arrogant, and arrogance has real-life consequences.
So I clicked on one of Tucker’s Twitter videos with a gazillion views or likes under it. Frankly, I didn’t have any biases against Tucker. So he’s a conservative. So he was fired from Fox News. So what? I never watched Fox News, and I never watched Tucker on Fox. I was curious.
Oh dear, I’m going to be arrogant after all — the dude is so boring and mediocre that I couldn’t last a minute. The very timber of his voice was so off-putting that my mind wandered and switched to meaningless stuff in my social media. Meaningless but more entertaining. How hyenas eat animals alive is scary and fascinating.
I appreciate media personalities being engaging and entertaining. Let me make an admission that not everyone will like — I think Andrew Tate is a fascinating presenter. He speaks fast, and fast is good in his case. He is very articulate. Regardless of whether you agree with his views, he’s very engaging.
I watched other conservative personalities, though I don’t like the label “conservative.” It’s too simplistic. For example, I watched Jordan Peterson. I found him fine. Most of his videos are moderate, and I never understood why he’s controversial.
