I stand by Ukraine
In a world that’s turbulent and full of controversies, in our personal lives that are also turbulent with our identities capable of experiencing dramatic changes because of certain events or influences, it helps to have certain anchors that remain that — anchors.
Maybe your family, maybe your lifelong tastes and hobbies. Some of your values. I say “some” because values can change and it’s okay. You’re not better or worse because you identify with Democrats or Republicans. You’re not better or worse because you’ve adopted alcohol abstinence.
This morning I came across this post from one of my connections on Facebook and it encouraged me to leave a similar note here on Medium, which remains the main platform for my voice.
(I think there is a typo in the post — the author meant to say decided, not declined).

In recent months I’ve heard a lot of negative sentiments about Zelensky, even from the circle who condemned Russia’s aggression. There are accusations of corruption, Zelensky’s grip on power at all costs, and his supposedly arrogant behavior toward his financial supporters.
Then of course there’s now the Trump administration that recently started a very open feud with Zelensky.
