I’ll succeed on Medium, I know already. This is why.

I started writing just a few weeks ago.

No, you are not going to see in this story anything about my past, present, or future earnings. I promised here to never shit that shit here on Medium.

In fact, I’m here to share something opposite and the joy of this “opposite”.

I don’t give a shit about my Medium earnings.

It’s an amazing, liberating feeling.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not financially privileged. I’ve been going through immense financial struggles, courtesy of my failed entrepreneurial endeavors, career struggles, and other mistakes. I have 4 kids. I deal with a lot of uncertainty and go through many very difficult days.

But for some reason, when it comes to writing, I just don’t care about being rewarded, certainly not immediately rewarded.

Do I look at the green bars?

Of course. Here, from this morning (I could’ve waited for that views number to reach a pretty round 3K number but I didn’t! — life’s not perfect!)

It’s great to see that my stories are being read. But I don’t think about the dollars behind the views, reads, claps, and followers.
