I disagree. In the free western world access to devices is the reality and confiscating /restricting is a cheap and unsustainable means of exercising authority. Better to keep them busy with sports and other things. Eventually they will will let go of their addictions. You mention sports but that’s indirect cutting of screen time. That I agree with
