I despise dudes who are on a mission to protect masculinity

A note from a father raising three sons.

I just had the misfortunate of coming across a bullshit and poorly written story about Russia’s war against Ukraine. But we are all entitled to our different opinions. Out of curiosity I checked the author’s profile. It’s anonymized — which always makes me suspicious. The description said: “teaching men to be traditionally masculine and spitting facts.”

Well, that’s revealing. Revealing in that it’s not revealing. The author or troll, who teaches men to be men, doesn’t have the balls to reveal his identity. The irony.

I shouldn’t even get so agitated and give this pathetic author so much attention.

But it’s part of a broader trend that I’m observing. At the top of the mountain — though currently in jail — sits the most prolific God of masculinity of all of them, Andrew Tate. There are many other influencers who are on the same mission, although some of them pursue it in more covert ways — the carnivore diet influencers for example.

I have to be true to my principles — these dudes can preach their values however much they like. I’m against censorship or constraining the freedom of speech and expression.

But, boy, do I despise these shallow and narcissistic folks.

There is actually a benefit to coming across them. I’m reminded of the risk of showing double standards. As a passionate runner, I sometimes get a little…
