How Facebook can pivot
I’m sure most of you saw the news about Facebook’s stock collapsing and its user base not growing. While I think some commentators are overreacting in their prediction of Mark Zuckerberg’s empire’s imminent demise, clearly Facebook is trouble.
I’ve thought a lot about Facebook’s problems, mustering the knowledge from my own business experience and acquired at Harvard Business School and came up with several directions that Facebook can pursue. I am sure the company has a lot of resources to invest in and experiment with these new products, but if worst comes to worst Mark can apply to Shark Tank and pitch Mark Cuban.
- Meta mattresses, to get a good night’s sleep in the metaverse.
- Disappearing metaverse. I mean metaverse doesn’t exist anyway, but if something that doesn’t exist could also disappear often, that’d be interesting I think. I don’t know though what would happen if you combine meta mattresses and the disappearing metaverse. I guess you’d end up in the sunken place, like in the movie “Get out”. Watch from minute 2:
- Try renaming itself again. “Meta” didn’t work. I’m thinking “Mute”. Mute corporation.
- Direct selling to add more users. Hire salespeople who can knock on people’s doors, do a demo of…
