Halloween = demise of Western Society

I recently observed my children getting all excited about Halloween night. They dragged me out to a local Halloween hotspot. It occurred to me then that Halloween perfectly reflects the demise of our modern society.

Let’s be upfront about what happens at this “celebration”.

You have a bunch of immature children, dressed up like idiots, turn up uninvited at strangers’ houses. They have no inhibitions. Humility when facing strangers and people of an older generation is not one of their qualities, but, hey, what do you expect from a society that doesn’t teach its children to respect authority. What do you expect from a society that, instead of encouraging people to build fences their homes, makes it fun to invite strangers to stop by? Worse — with bags and buckets, asking for fucking candy. Remember the proverb “My home is my castle”? You probably don’t. The centuries-old values have been long abandoned.

I come from a difficult culture and had to research the meaning of “trick or treat”. Turns out that if you don’t give in to kids’ demands, they can “trick” you. Little shits.

Now let’s think about who benefits from this stupid show. Candies — large corporations. Costumes — large corporations too, specifically the Western movie industry with its rotten values. Cruellas, Vampires, Darth Vaders — instead of promoting good values and tastes, yeah, let’s glamorize evil motherfuckers who kill and screw other people and, sometimes entire planets.
