God I love running

This is plagiarism.

On Strava, I’m following both amateur and elite runners. I recently followed Charles Hicks, who runs for Standford.

My son, who runs for high school, told me about Charles Hicks.

Last night Hicks posted this on Strava:

Oh my God, this summarizes it all so well: God I love running.

No extra words are needed, and no punctuation.

I’m just an amateur runner approaching middle age (how do you define middle age?).

But God I love running.

Today my son and I ran a local Turkey Trot run in Orange County, California.

I failed pretty badly at my ambitious sub-17 min target but I felt so-so happy. I think I could’ve run some 10–15 seconds faster if I was more rested and hadn’t run seventy miles in the days preceding today’s fun race. Still, I couldn’t have run under 17 minutes. Not yet.

I was so happy. I’m happy now, writing this.
