Entrepreneurial (start-up) ideas I have

My wife called me today with one of these ideas, so I thought I’d drop this story. They say ideas are nothing. I half-agree. Worrying about someone stealing your idea is dumb. The chances of someone stealing an idea from this story and executing it successfully are one out of a million. However, I also think that good ideas are rare. Therefore, having a solid idea is an integral part of the entrepreneurial journey.

The start-up that I co-founded — an app that connected youth activities with parents for scheduling and communication — failed several years ago. I still believe it was a good idea; there was a problem to be solved. However, we struggled with execution.

I then found myself in a period where I had no new ideas. Even if someone had given me hundreds of thousands to attempt something new, I wouldn’t have known where to start.

But I’ve had more ideas lately and I might give some of them a try.

Ready? Go ahead, steal, build, exit, and make millions and billions! Or, if you’re an angel investor, reach out to me!

  • An Airnbn-like business targeting foreign students, interns, traveling athletes, especially the young ones, simply students, and some other folks. The idea is to stay with host families who can a) provide a room, and b) provide some services (for example, meals or even transportation). You’d have to ‘vet’ host families quite rigorously. This is different from Airbnb in that it’d target an audience who might not be independent…
