Do I (do you?) want to be buried or cremated?

I don’t know actually.

I hope I have another half a century or so before this question becomes practical, but I’ve been wondering.

When I think of cremation, I think of this hilarious Big Lebowski scene:

When I think of being buried, I’m thinking of, well, a cemetery, some cemetery, not a specific one.

There are pros and cons to each.

In general, I don’t find it interesting for my ugly remains to stay on earth. I’ve never seen a beautiful mummy or skeleton.

However, it feels that being buried provides a way for your loved ones and future generations to stop by and express their thoughts of appreciation and love. Do I need that? I don’t know. More no, than yes. But let’s say I become someone famous. My living ego feels pretty good imaging people pay tribute to me dead!

But I ain’t famous; there is some hope with my 250 followers on Medium but still a lot of work ahead.

My other problem with being buried is the question “where?”. There is a temptation to start soul searching about where my home is. I’m Russian and, in my youth, used to have very passionate about my home, Moscow especially. But…
