Bernie Sanders’s Terrible Advice
I found out from my son. He’s off to college soon. He’s very conservative, even though he‘s grown up in California. Often his views are overly simplistic. That’s OK. My Mom calls his strong opinions “teenage maximalism.” I debate with him and try to present alternative views.
So today he texted me this:
I didn’t think Oh I disagree with Bernie Sanders. I got angry! This was the stupidest post I’ve seen in a long time. I was busy — doing several things at the same time. Working, writing. Recovering from my marathon yesterday. Yes, I have to mention it. Running is my hobby, but I’m hoping it will become more than a hobby. I’m passionate about running. I’d like to inspire others and, yes, I’d like to build a business around running. I worked very hard so far, and it’s been paying off — I set my PR in the race and continue gathering followers on different platforms.
My life’s biggest achievements in education and work were because I worked hard — way more than 32 hours a week. Probably twice as much. I am proud of these stretches. They helped me grow personally and professionally. They helped me build my family. Was there stress? Of course. There was a lot of intensity and many lessons learned too.
I have role models — in sports and creative arts, for example. That they didn’t apply Bernie Sanders's stupid…
