Being born into or being part of the royal family sucks
I’m reading about the drama related to the mysterious disappearance — or let’s call it lack of appearance — of Kate Middleton and am realizing that belonging to the royal family is like a curse.
Let’s look at the royal family in modern times.
Princess Diana — well, we know what happened.
Prince Harry — exited the royal family with a bang and is now trying to peace and home in ̶S̶a̶n̶t̶a̶ ̶B̶a̶r̶b̶a̶r̶a ̶elsewhere. He’s probably doing fine overall but something tells me that he is far from finding peace.
Prince Andrew — good friends with Jeffrey Epstein.
Prince Charles has cancer.
Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of New York — cancer too.
Prince William and Kate Middleton — a picture-perfect royal family except that the picture is suddenly imperfect, figuratively and literally.
I didn’t mean to write this note with a cynical undertone, though I do often feel that monarchy is outdated and wasteful.
The point is that the members of the royal family are only human. They have affairs, they fall sick, and they sin. They search for happiness. While they are privileged…
