Is it possible to improve every day, even if in a tiny way?

Lately, I’ve been experiencing this desire to improve. Improve what, how? My life, myself? I’m struggling to articulate this feeling, but it’s in me. I wouldn’t call it a “burning” desire. I know that change doesn’t happen overnight, so any allusion to starting or putting out a fire doesn’t feel right. I’ve stopped drinking alcohol, but this story has no connection to my drinking habits (or does it?!).

I don’t have a plan or strategy on how to improve, but there is a desire to both reassess and reinvent myself.

I’ve had a trivial day filled with the usual routines, tasks, concerns, and struggles. I ran like I always do. The only unusual characteristic of today was that it rained. It doesn’t often rain in California. I ran in the rain when it was already dark and had no complaints. There is something empowering about running in bad weather. But that wasn’t an improvement of any kind. In recent years, I’ve achieved uncompromising consistency with my running, and it’s something I greatly enjoy.
