As a creator, you’re guaranteed to be humiliated at some point. This happened to me last night.

“Humiliation” is perhaps a strong word.

Rejected? Criticized? Canceled? Some variation of these experiences is inevitable.

Besides writing on Medium, I have a running blog on Substack — Love Letters to Running. It’s a young effort. I love running and wanted to have a separate place for my running stories.

I’d often share my stories on Facebook’s Sub 3 Marathon Group, which I’ve greatly enjoyed. It’s nice to see runners share their experiences and achievements. It’s a meaningful size group — over fifteen thousand members.

Some of my posts got a lot of engagement. I do get a lot of positive feedback.

A few days ago, I expressed one unconventional opinion, and there were a lot of responses:

The related Substack blog is here. Basically, in my post, I praised the runners who are slower but can run a more evenly-paced race. Maybe controversial, but it was a genuine reflection on my running journey. A humble one too! Running a sub-three-hour marathon is a trivial goal for me these days.
