America’s double standards

In general, I try to stay away from politics in my blogs, notwithstanding my frequent stories on Putin’s war against Ukraine. But that’s not even politics. It’s current affairs; it’s history. I can’t imagine that if you’re from that part of the world, whether you live there or in immigration, your world hasn’t been turned upside down by the war, at least at some level.

I do of course have some views on America’s political and social life, but I don’t feel comfortable judging or expressing strong opinions. Not yet anyway. I’m still getting to know the country, as an immigrant. I like the country and many of my stories express appreciation of America, despite its many problems. But certain topics do annoy me a lot.

These two pieces of news caught my attention in the last couple of weeks.

Biden’s meeting with the crown prince of Saudi Arabia.
