A note on the Musk-MAGA immigration debate

I wrote this story a couple of days ago and then deleted it, which is rare for me — I don’t sanitize my writing or delete what I share, even if my perspective shifts over time. A reader later mentioned that he had been looking forward to my thoughts, only to find the story deleted. He wondered if I had caved to some kind of shaming by my readers.

The answer is no — I didn’t cave. I deleted it because the story felt forced — not in its substance, but in how I was feeling. It was the festive season, and I felt fatigued of closing the year with another politically colored story.

Anyway, here it is — rewritten.

I mentioned that the heated debate about H1b visa within the conservative party is a great example of why I welcomed the outcome of the 2024 election.
